Located in Galway City (West End), the Crane Clinic provides a professional acupuncture and natural health service in a beautiful clinical setting. Our practitioners have prior backgrounds in nursing, midwifery, naturopathy, science and nutrition and each practitioner is registered with their professional body and is fully insured.
Therapists at the Crane Clinic are highly trained and skilled in acupuncture, laser therapy, nutrition and Amatsu therapy and have vast experience in the management of many chronic medical and pain conditions. We also specialize in fertility and conditions of pregnancy. Our therapists pride themselves on keeping up with the latest techniques, training and skill sets in their field.
Our aim is to start with looking at the root causes of chronic disease and then treat the underlying cause through harnessing the power of Acupuncture, Nutrition, Therapeutic Bodywork and looking at the underlying lifestyle and emotions as we believe that the body has strong regenerative capabilities when it is given the right environment.
We take referrals from GP’s or directly through our clinic and we work in association with medical doctors, pain specialists and physiotherapists. Each referral is treated confidentially and we endeavour to do our very best as we use an individualised plan for each person.
Our clinic is wheelchair accessible on the street level and has a wheelchair accessible bathroom.
Cancellation Policy
We require 24 hours notice to cancel a session. Less than 24 hours notice will result in charges for the session.

Each therapist at the Crane Clinic is fully insured and a member of a professional association, including:
- Acupuncture Council of Ireland (ACI) – Members of the ACI are approved by all major health insurance providers.
- Acupuncture Foundation Professionals Association (AFPA)
- Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Nutritional Therapists of Ireland (NTOI)
- Amatsu Therapy Association (ATA)
- Register of Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Therapists of Ireland (ROSTI)
Insurance Coverage
Insurance companies are increasingly covering acupuncture as part of their policies. However this is only with some insurers and certain policies and for certain conditions. Also, it is individual practitioners rather than the clinic who will be covered. It is very important to check with your provider specifically about their requirements for coverage. VHI Healthcare, Laya Healthcare, Irish Life Health and HSF Health plan recognise the Crane Clinic and our treatments. Typically patients will pay for treatment and reclaim the cost through their insurers and we provide receipts and reports as requested.
